Cozumel Airport becomes inclusive
There was an Inauguration at the airport on February 4th to celebrate adjustments made to the infrastructure for the disabled. President of DIF Cozumel, Mrs. Gina Ruiz de Marrufo, thanked the Grupo Asur for taking these actions and for making this important tourism entrance and exit locale an example for other air terminals.
Mrs. Gina Ruiz de Marrufo said that changes in the infrastructure will facilitate travel and airport access, and that Grupo Asur demonstrated interest and professionalism by providing quality service, as well as sensitivity and social responsibility, for those who require care based on their needs.
The Administrator Cozumel Airport, Armando José Gamboa Vargas, explained that an investment of 2 million pesos was made to adjust counters, building ramps, restrooms and parking areas of the terminal. He indicated that Municipal Government has taken these and other action in order to become an inclusive island, where quality services are provided to everyone without distinction. He also thanked Ms. Gina Ruiz de Marrufo, for providing DIF training to Cozumel airport staff regarding the awareness of people with disabilities.
Also in attendance were Rolando Tovar Leal, Germán García Padilla, Juan González Cástelan, and Abner Castañeda García, among others.
Cozumel Carnival 2015 Winners perform
The Reyes electos del Carnaval (Elected King & Queen of the Carnival) 2015, Ana Paula de la Torre and Gabriel Espinosa, presented their new show before hundreds of cozumeleñas families in Quintana Roo Park on Sunday night.
As is tradition, tourists and locals gathered to enjoy the participation of the King & Queen of the Carnival, as well as the “Reyes de la Alegría”, (King & Queen of Joy) Yovana Faugier & Jonatan Tep, and the “Reyes de la Fantasía”, (king & Queen of Fantasy) Valery Azueta y Alonso Paredes.
All Royalty will be crowned by Mayor Fredy Marrufo Martin, at a major event scheduled in the “Roo Quintana Park” on Wednesday February 11 at 8:00 p.m.
