By Kathy Mc Ginn & Aura Holguin Resch

Our friend Susan Bonnet departed this world on May 19 after her brave fight with ovarian cancer.  We will always miss her and she will always be an inspiration to the many people who were lucky enough to cross her path.  The people she loved to help are still in Cozumel and, in her memory; we are going to continue her annual Kings Day Projects.

Attached is the wish list for the Kings Day Celebration that Gena Meyer is heading up this year and the wish list for Casa Hogar Juan Pablo II (Cozumel’s nursing home).  Santa and Candi Cane Corki will be taking gifts to Cozumel’s Bombero (firefighters) children to thank the Bomberos for all they do for the island and then they are off to the CAM School to visit those very special children.  In addition to the wish lists, they can always use beanie babies and small candy canes – I am convinced they visit with every child on the island.

If you are interested in supporting any of these groups, there is several ways to help:

Gena Meyer is gathering donations in Cozumel – if you are on the island, you can contact her on FB, caribdivergena@gmail.com or 987-112-5116

Jan, our favorite lady at the No Name Sports Bar, is helping and you can drop off your donation any evening except Tuesday (lucky lady gets a day off)

If you are in the U.S. or Canada, you can send a donation through PayPal or mail to Kathy McGinn, 8532 Sunset Cove Court, Fort Worth TX 76179 and I will make sure it gets to Cozumel.  My email address is woofem@me.com.

As usual, there are no overhead costs with this group and any donation you are kind enough to share will go directly to the people you specify.
