In 2015 hundreds of people benefited from various DIF (Integral Development of the family) health campaigns in Cozumel, under the leadership of Mrs. Gina Ruiz de Marrufo.

In 2016, DIF will continue to bring specialized medical services free or at low cost to the community, starting this month.

The first health campaigns this year are the Visual Health and Orthopedic Appliances, which will be Held January 21, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., and January 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In both cases, consultations are free and lenses and orthopedic appliances are offered at low cost. It is not required that you make an appointment, people will be seen first come, first served basis.

health3On Friday, January 29 DIF will hold the Podiatry Campaign, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is limited space available for this campaign, you must make an appointment and a fee of $150 Pesos is charged for the consultation.

Also, on January 29th, persons interested in having a Spirometry Test (pulmonary function test), may do so from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. An appointment is necessary and the cost is $50.00 pesos.

On Saturday, January 30 the consultation will be for Urology and on Sunday 31, consultation for Alergologia. (There is no translation for this word, but it means treatment for illnesses related to allergies.) In both cases the consultations will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the cost is $350 pesos. Interested persons may request an appointment with an advance payment of $100 pesos.

The Visual health, Orthotics, and Podiatry consultations, will be in the DIF building, and Spirometry, Urology and Allergy Consultations will be held at the community pharmacy, located inside of the CTM Colony Park.  In cases that require appointment, interested persons may do so at the Coordination of Medical Assistance Office, located in the DIF building from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
