Cozumel La Caleta Marina Now Private

The corporation Presidente Intercontinental that operates the Hotel Presidente in Cozumel, now has in its possession the marina known as La Caleta. A portion of the land where the Marina Cozumel is located, belonged to the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel, and negotiations resulted in an agreement to give La Caleta to the hotel. Everything seems to indicate that the space of La Caleta will be used by the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel to develop a hotel complex.
Owners of the 100 boats that currently occupy La Caleta, are afraid they will be evicted at any time, now that the deadline to move to the Fonatur Marina has expired.

Author Paul J. Mila Book Signing in Cozumel

Author and diver Paul J. Mila will hold a book signing on December 10th for his two Cozumel Novels “Killer in Paradise” and “Harry Hawksbill Helps His Friends.”  Just in time for Christmas, you can get your books autographed for gifts or for yourself! The Signing will take place at La Cocay located at Calle 8 Norte. entre 10 y 15 Avenida #208 Centro, Cozumel at 6:30 pm.

If you have not experienced it, it is an absolute thrill to read a book and recognize the places the author describes in his story.

Killer in Paradise:

A killer is loose in paradise! Who will be the next victim?

Paul Mila returns with familiar and new characters in the fifth book of his dive adventure/thriller series.

Scuba diver and art gallery owner Dayle Standish struggles to save her marriage as she searches for a priceless artifact dating back to Christopher Columbus. But Dayle’s path through the land of the ancient Mayans intersects with a vicious killer in Cozumel, Mexico, putting herself and her friends, Terry and Joe Manetta, in danger.

The story will appeal to divers and non-divers alike, and diving readers will recognize dive sites located in Roatan and Cozumel. The unique story line takes readers inside cenotes (pronounced SAY-NO-TAYS), the underwater caves that riddle the Yucatan, and which supplied the ancient Mayans with much of their fresh water.

“Paul Mila returns with familiar characters in this riveting suspense/thriller. Once you start reading, you won’t be able to put this action-packed page turner down.” Mike Monahan, author of The Treasure of Hart Island and Barracuda.

“Paul Mila has created a fast-paced thriller that finds its ‘Maltese Falcon’ hundreds of years older and in an underwater Mayan shrine. Grab your air tank — definitely worth the dive!” Thomas Hoover, author of Caribbee.

Harry Hawksbill Helps His Friends:

Vibrant photos depicted on high-quality glossy pages sets this book apart from other children’s books. Author and diver Paul Mila uses his vivid underwater photos to bring this story to life. Harry the hawksbill turtle discovers that his angelfish friends aren’t getting along because they look different from each other. Harry teaches them they are more alike than they realize, while children also learn about sea life. This is a fun book for beginning self-readers or for parents and children to read together.
