Rodeo de Las Lanchas Mexicanas
This is the 49th year that Cozumel hosts the Rodeo de Las Lanchas Mexicanas. The tournament normally takes place in May. Due to the Pandemic it was necessary to reschedule the tournament. This year the popupar contest will take place in Cozumel September 19 -21. All the health security measures are followed.

SWIM
Athletes will enter the water in a continuous stream through a controlled access point. An athlete’s times will start when they cross timing mats at the start line. Athletes will be directed to self-seed on race morning based on their projected swim time. Volunteers and staff will be in the staging area with signs and will assist with this process. Self-seeding will not be mandatory but will be encouraged.
BIKE
The bike course is flat and paved. It starts at the CHANKANAAB parking lot (T1). It finishes at T2 next to Cozumel’s City Hall in the heart of downtown. Athletes will have to complete 1.3 laps along the highway circling the Island in a counterclockwise direction.
RUN
The 2-lap run course is all flat and paved, it passes many of Cozumel’s signature sites, including its waterfront, downtown main plaza, and historic neighborhoods.

GFNY Cycling Competition November 8, 2020
On November 8th, 2020 enjoy an unique seafront cycling course in what is call “The Number One Cycling Event in Paradise! The GFNY Cozumel course is filled with fascinating views and challenging roads.
There are two distances to choose from, either the Long Distance 160 kilometers or the Medium distance 80 kilometers. Both have beautiful beaches and ocean views. The locals come out in big numbers to cheer the participants to the finish line.
Long Distance 160K
The 160km journey will take you thru two challenging hot laps around the coastline. The beautiful island has more than 50 kilometers of picturesque turquoise ocean views. Along the way, you will be challenged by strong Mayan winds.
Medium Distance 80K
The Medium distance route offers the same breathtaking views as the Long, but instead of two laps the route is shortened to one lap around the island. Do not be fooled this is still a challenging ride for many, especially with the strong winds and competitive group of riders.
A Late-Season Destination Race in Paradise
Cozumel is a seasoned IRONMAN host city. Off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, the area has over 14 miles of reefs, archaeological ruins, and a national park. It has endless expanses of turquoise water and white sandy beaches. The 2020 IRONMAN Cozumel offers slots to the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i.
The swimming stage of IRONMAN Cozumel is one of the most spectacular in the world. The great visibility of water and the huge amount of underwater life throughout the course, turns this stage into one unforgettable experience.
Athletes will do 3 laps around the island to complete the 180 kms (112 miles) of the bike course. The route covers amazing Oceanside roads, the great hotel zone and a bit of the city.
The run course is flat and passes through many of Cozumel’s signature sites, including its waterfront, downtown main plaza and historic neighborhoods. Hundreds of spectators cover the sidewalks to watch and cheer for the athletes to give their best. The finish line is located at the City Hall plaza in downtown Cozumel.
