Medication
We had one of our biggest months for donated medicines last month, thank you! All medication that we receive from you goes to T.S.C. free Clinic and pharmacy. Please check your medicine cabinet regularly and bring us your unused medication!
Todos Somos Cozumel Servicios Médicos Integral & Farmacia Comunitaria is located at Calle 85 bis con José María Morelos B in Colonia Repobladores.
The services are available by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The numbers listed are 987 141 3111, 987 989 7807, and 987 137 5133.
Medical Equiptment
In stock to loan wheelchair, walker, two sets of crutches, and nebulizar. Canes are donated to seniors. Other medical supplies are donated directly to the free clinic or public hospital.
Book Exchange & Store
Cozumel´s first Book Exchange & Papeleria offers School & Office Supplies, Printing, Copies, Scans, International Telephone, Internet Cafe, Gifts & Novelty Items.
The Book Exchange is a long-awaited community service that is FREE. We have hundreds of books and some movies in stock! NEW BOOKS COME IN EVERY WEEK! (Separate sections with Children’s Books, Crossword Puzzles, and a Magazine Section).
To start, you can PURCHASE an used books currently priced between $50 and $100 pesos. You may return these books and exchange for FREE in the future!
An assortment of books and movies are in stock FOR SALE. These are Coffee Table Books, Dictionaries, Guides and How to Books.

Grandson Julian is running the store and book exchange on his own seven days per week. If I am unable to cover for him, we are unavailable certain hours or on certain days. We post these changes on our Facebook page, The Cozumel Sun Book Exchange & Papeleria.

The Athletes are Coming!
September starts the arrival of athletes from all over the world for three competitions that take place in our island paradise. These competitions are vital to the island economy. Many athletes arrive ahead of the competition to practice with friends and family in tow.
The sporting events are great entertainment; watching and cheering on the competitors make for a fun day. Many on the island volunteer to assist handing out water along the course or in the medical tents.
IRONMAN 70.3 Cozumel
On September 25 IRONMAN 70.3 Cozumel Competition takes place that offers qualifying slots to the 2023 IRONMAN worldwide championship.
The triathlon consists of a swim course that is 1.2 miles (1.9 Kilometers), followed by a bike segment that is fifty-six miles (90 Kilometers), and ending in a 13.1 miles (21 kilometers) run.
GFNY Cozumel
The next major race will be cycling at GFNY Cozumel on November 13th. GFNY stands for Gran Fondo New York. “Gran Fondo” is the Italian term for “big challenge” and stems from skiing, swimming, and cycling endurance races that started in the 1950s. GFNY brought the open-to-all marathon format known in running to cycling in 2010.
There are two distances to choose from, the Long Course is 160 kilometers and consists of two loops around the island of Cozumel. The Medium Course is eighty kilometers that circumvents the island of Cozumel once.
Only the finishers of the long course are eligible for category rankings and Overall and Podium awards. Top 10% of finishers in each age group earn a spot in the Qualifier Corral at every GFNY World event.
IRONMAN Cozumel
The last major competition will be IRONMAN Cozumel on November 20th. This triathlon consists of a swim course that is 2.4 miles (3.8 Kilometers), followed by a bike segment that is 112 miles (180 Kilometers), and ending in a 26.2 miles (42.195 kilometers) run.

October Events
Second Annual Day of The Dead Festival
The city should be announcing the second annual Day of the Dead festival soon. The festival was a huge tourist attraction last year. Consequently, as impressive as it was last year, one cannot help but think that it will be even better this year.
There was a lighting of the candles ceremony at San Miguel Cemetery, followed by a procession through downtown Cozumel comparable to Carnival.
The festival was cultural event from start to finish highlighting the Mayan Culture and other Mexican traditions in food, art, dance, and religion.
Meanwhile, on October 31 the Cozumel Children snuck in their candy exchange at the park in honor of Halloween. Set your calendars to be in Cozumel during this period. More information to follow!
Ladies Breakfast
The Cozumel Ladies Breakfast Club is meeting next on October 5th and 19th at Casa Cuzamil (https://www.facebook.com/casacuzamilOfficial). For further information contact Cyndi Seale Phillips.
Men’s Breakfast
The Cozumel Men’s breakfast meets Every Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Casa Mission Casa Mission (55 Av. Entre Juárez y 1a Sur). The service is excellent and the food good and very reasonable.
Meetup Cozumel
Meetup Cozumel celebrates September Mexico’s Independence Month at La Mission downtown Tuesday the 27th 6 p.m. with 50% off dinner menu and offering two-for-one drinks
Complementary chips Salsa and fish ceviche at each table – special addition of Tequila Tasting and an art tour of Plaza Confetti which is behind La Mission
