Chiles En Nogada
Our Cover photo this week is Chiles En Nogada. Chile en nogada is the patriotic dish of Mexico! Chiles en nogada is a Mexican dish of poblano chiles stuffed with picadillo topped with a walnut-based cream sauce called nogada, pomegranate seeds and parsley.
During September, the patriotic month, you will find this dish everywhere. I saw a beautiful presentation at Rock’n Java Caribbean Bar & Grill Cozumel this week. If you really feel ambitious, you can google the complex recipe. However, I suggest that you find this dish at your favorite restaurant this month!

Let’ts Talk Health This Week
Monkey Pox
The News has reported cases of Monkey Pox in our State of Quintana Roo, not enough to raise the alert of a pandemic. I have heard of four cases, a few weeks back. Today, September 5, I read of one death on the island this week. A previously existing condition led to complications that caused the death. DO NOT PANIC! However, I want my readers to exercise caution.
As you know, I am insured at the public hospital IMSSS. I am there weekly for one follow up test or consultation. I see some people wearing masks. In my mind, no one wears those unless they know something I do not! I always carry spare masks in my chair, and I promptly put mine on if masked individuals are in the same room. I am not an alarmist; but the chemotherapy has left my immune system very vulnerable.
The usual government websites are not posting information of the actual numbers of Monkey Pox cases. Unfortunately, the government has yet to post this information anywhere that I can find. I will keep looking. Here are the symptoms of Monkey Pox, and the preventive measures to take if you suspect that you have contracted this disease.
