The family of a little girl who is in critical condition after being struck by a car this past weekend is asking for financial support to cover the medical treatment expenses. The family is asking for financial assistance because so far neither the driver nor the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident, have contributed money to the recovery of the child. The family has raised, with the help from the community, just over $100,000 pesos, but the hospital bill is for more than $250,000 pesos and rising daily.

According to the police report she was struck on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. by Canadian Jacques “N”, 46 years old, who was driving to a Hyundai with registration # 81-97-TRR, belonging to a Smart leasing property.

The little girl is at Islamed Hospital and needs O positive blood. The way the blood exchange system works here, donations of any type of blood will be credited to her account.

The latest medical update is that Specialist has arrived from Playa del Carmen; the child has responded well and is struggling to stay alive.
