The Museum of Cozumel is excellent. If you hav
e not been there, it is a must see. In addition to the regular exhibits, the Museum hosts Art Exhibits, Social Events, and Classes.
Historic
The Museum of Cozumel is in a historic building dating back to the 1930s. It was once one of the first hotels in Cozumel. The Museum offers permanent exhibition rooms, a broad vision of the geography, ecosystems, history, and culture of the island of Cozumel.
Recently Remodeled
In its 11 interactive rooms, discover in a playful, informed, and entertaining way, the origin, natural diversity, and stories of resilience of its inhabitants.
It also has 2 temporary rooms for local and international artists and a special room that pays tribute to 146 years of Carnival tradition.
Take a tour of the Museum to learn about the origin, development, and customs of the Island’s inhabitants. Its main function is to protect and preserve the cultural heritage of the Cozumeleños.
Accessible
The “Museo de la Isla de Cozumel” has bathrooms and an elevator for accessibility. The Museo is under the umbrella of the “Fundación de Parques y Museo de la Isla”.
