Isauro Cruz Lara, manager of the Cozumel Hotel Association announced that Cozumel will co-host the 2014 Tourism Expo to be held in Cancun and the Riviera Maya in May of next year. The plan is to bring a minimum of 80 tour operators and show island tourist attractions. These operators are mainly businesses in the same industry in the European and South American markets. Hoteliers try to tie the event “Gala Cozumel” to companies that provide tourism to target domestic markets of the United States and Canada. “Gala Cozumel” dates from the eighties.

The Ministry of Tourism of Quintana Roo made the announcement that the event will be held from May 9 to 11, 2014. The activity will be entered in the official program of the Tianguis Turistico 2014. Approximately 47 companies usually attend this event; among them are United Airlines, American Airlines, Interjet, and   Funjet.  Travel Agencies such as MLT, Apple, Expedia, Travelocity.com and Orbitz.com also are represented.  The event will include representatives of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism and the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry and Spicy Food.The activities undertaken during the program include business meetings, tours sights of the island and the gala dinner. During the event the tour operators are known to sign commercial contracts with local companies.

TCS has successful matched those that want to help and those in need for many years. During the Pandemic, our resources go to the Community Kitchens that are feeding hundreds in Cozumel.
