Back in Cozumel!

The family reunion was a success, it has been six years since I have seen my son Arturo, his wife, and three grandchildren. I arranged to have my eldest daughter and her significant other fly in from Ohio and my eldest grandson fly in from Minnesota, I have not seen them in 16 years! It was long overdue and wonderful!

The only downside was not being able to take my Cozumel grandkids with me. I am so proud of grandson Julian who held down the store seven days per week and helped care for his sister in my absence!

We returned to Cozumel on February 28th. It was a grueling ordeal. We did not sleep for 48 hours and hit the ground running as they say. Between running errands, shopping, unpacking, and attempting to do a month’s worth of backlog, I over did it. My apologies for not being consistent in my communications these past weeks.

No Staffing No Energy

We are down to my grandson and I, mostly my grandson running the store and book exchange. My grandson has started military service Saturday Mornings. I am also raising a ten-year-old granddaughter while her parents are at work.

I have not recovered from my recent trip. It has taken everything in my power to put this edition together. I started and did not complete an edition two weeks in a row. I am hoping to snap out of it soon! However, it is difficult with the number of day-to-day responsibilities that I have outside of The Cozumel Sun and Book Exchange Store.

Possible Change in Hours and Days of Operations

One other consideration is that I need to get both kids out of this house for rest, relaxation, and entertainment at some point. Our regular hours are posted as Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturdays 9 a.m. -5 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. HOWEVER, please call ahead to make certain we are open until I can find help or change the days and hours.
